SunFest: Beat the High Cost of Oil and Electricity
Generating your own clean renewable energy from the sun isn't as
costly or as complex as you might think. Find out how on Saturday
August 28th, at the third annual SunFest, where John Wilson will
give guided tours of his award-winning natural home. By being efficient
and smart about how we use energy we can cut our energy usage in
half while reducing pollution by up to 90%. Putting solar panels
on you roof and running the meter backwards is something that anybody
can do and makes more and more sense as the price of oil and electricity
continue to skyrocket.
Last year, in the aftermath of the Blackout, more than 1,800 people
came away from SunFest blown away by how easy it is and how little
it costs. John Wilson demonstrated how anyone can start by insulating
their home, optimizing for passive solar heating/cooling, and adding
solar panels. This has saved Wilson thousands each year while generating
zero pollution. In fact the Wilson home is so efficient and well
insulated it doesn't even have a furnace! If we all do our part
by reducing our energy consumption and generating some of our own
power we can prevent future blackouts.
John will conduct tours at his home, located about an hour north
of Toronto, between 12 noon and 5pm on Saturday August 28th, 2004.
An additional highlight this year will be the remarkable new Motor
Trend Car of the Year, Toyota Prius Hybrid, which John will demonstrate.
Much like the Wilson natural home, this car shows how we all can
start to reduce pollution by as much as 90% while saving $20 on
every tank of gas. John's down to earth approach, hands-on experience,
and openness regarding both the advantages and disadvantages have
made this event a must for anyone serious about getting sustainable.
Impossible! That is what many people think. Come see for yourself.
Here is your chance to see how you can prevent blackouts, reduce
pollution, and beat the high cost of oil and electricity.
